Glam Glow Mud Mask Review - Best Mask Ever!

My favorite and best mud mask to clear acne.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share with everyone a recent beauty must have of mine and that is the Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment. I got this beauty in the US when I stumbled upon it at the Sephora store. It was really pricey but I decided to get it after hearing all the rave reviews on the Makeup Social beauty community. 

The company, Glam Glow claims that this product will help with fine lines and wrinkles, minimise pores, fight follicle bacteria and moisture and stimulate skin collagen. 

My Glam Glow Procedure:
Step 1: Rinse and Cleanse my face with my favourite Neutrogena Clean & Clear cleanser. (You can see in the photo below that my pores are quite large.)

Step 2: Apply the Glam Glow Super Mud treatment with my fingers and spread the product out evenly on my skin.

Step 3: Let the Glam Glow dry on my face and see how it works on the troubled areas of your skin.

Step 4: Rinse the product off and pat dry. 

Step 5: Enjoy beautiful and glowing skin!

My final thoughts and review:

Pros:

-I really loved the minty feeling on the skin when you apply it.

-I love how it minimises my pores.

-The consistency is smooth and easy to apply.

-It brighten's my skin and complexion.

Cons:

-Packaging is small and doesn't contain a fair amount of product. I feel that I have to use this product sparingly.

-Cost of this item is expensive.

Overall Rating: 8.5/10

I would still continue using this product because it does do wonders for my skin, however I am not sure if I can afford to continuously purchase this product since it is so pricey.

Eyeshadow Primer battle: NYX vs Elf vs Urban Decay

Inspired by a recent question asked on Makeup Social, "What's a good eyeshadow primer?" Currently I own three eyeshadow primers and I thought I should conduct an Eyeshadow Primer battle and see which one rates the best! 

Contestant # 1- NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil (Milk)

Contestant #2- E.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer (Sheer)

Contestant #3- Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

(sorry for the ugly photo... it looks like I've been using this one for a while... hehe)

We will be using the eyeshadow 'Toasted' from the Urban Decay Naked Palette as the 'EyeShadow' to test out how well it goes on with the primers.

All the contestants lined up... let's see who won this battle!

Application: I performed a swatch of 3 brush strokes of product onto the three different areas of primed skin.

Starting from far left:

1. Swatch of 'Toasted' w/o eyeshadow primer

2. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil

3. E.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer

4. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

 Winner:

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil

You can tell from the photos that the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil brings out a brighter and intense colour. Compared to the other primers, it seems to be the only primer that makes the colour 'pop' out the most. In addition it makes the colour more 'true' to colour compared to the others. A tip to using the pencil, I would suggest patting in the shadow, since the pencil delivers quite a creamy finish.

What about the others?

The Urban Decay and E.l.f. shadow primers are still great products, it still increases the intensity of the colour as well as making your shadow last longer. 

I would say that for all the ladies that don't have a eyeshadow primer, you should definitely look into getting one. It significantly increases the lasting power of your shadow and also  picks up the colour from the shadow w/o having to use multiple strokes to create intensity.

Review: MAC Strobe Cream (Dewy Skin)

Hey everyone!

I've been hearing all good things about MAC Strobe Cream for about a few years now and decided to finally give it a go! It is marketed to be used as the ultimate quick fix-to freshen dull, flat or tired looking skin with iridescent pearls and fully loaded antioxidants! In other words it would reflect light off the skin if it is exposed to any light (sunlight or spotlight), giving you that dewy fresh look.

Application:

1).I mixed the strobe cream with my foundation.

2). Dot cream on cheekbones, nose and chin after you have applied foundation.

I know that there are numerous other ways to use this but I found mixing the cream with my foundation a better technique for me.

Pros:

Gives a lovely glow to the skin (doesn't look oily)

Brightens up dull looking skin 

Isn't overly shimmery- nice and subtle

Can be used with overly mattifying foundations

Cons:

Broke me out! (For all my oily skin ladies, beware!)
Pricey
Foundation colour becomes slightly lighter- but not that noticeable

Overall Rating: 6/10

I wouldn't use this product all the time- only on days when I really feel like my skin needs a pick me up. It does brighten the complexion however I find myself running back home to wash it off because I'm afraid it will break me out.

Skincare Review: Shiseido Benefiance Concentrated Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream

Late last year I asked the girls in the Makeup Social whether if it is too early to try out anti- aging creams for someone between the age of 20-25. The response I got was surprising and the girls that worked in the skincare industry said that it was never too early!

So I've started to notice that I've developed some fine wrinkles under my eyes. I think the major cause of it was from removing my eye makeup with a pad and that being too harsh on the skin under the eyes. I've changed my routine now so let me know if you girls want me to show you how I've changed it up.

So after reading numerous amounts of reviews online, I've decided to give Shiseido Benefiance Concentrated Anti- Wrinkle Eye Cream a try and bought the product when I was in the US. 

Application: 

I applied this at night after washing my face, using the small spatula that came with the product (you only need a little bit of product) and the next morning I could see a difference. My fine lines didn't disappear but my skin under the eyes looked more bouncy and fresh. Before, it looked dry after cleansing my face and waking up the next morning, it looked even worse.

Pros:
- very hydrating and makes the skin look rejuvenated

- thick like balm but doesn't pull on the skin on application

-small jar but lasts long 

-restores moisture on the skin under the eyes

-reduces the appearance of fine lines

-great packaging

Cons:

- expensive

-doesn't reduce puffiness or dark circles (but that's ok because the intention was to decrease the appearance of fine lines.)

-doesn't completely get rid of the fine lines

Overall Product rating: 7.5/10

I would continue using this, especially for those late nights when your skin feels dry the next morning or after cleaning off heavy makeup. It's a good product to have for those moments of relief and where you need to look your best the next day. 

A very small and cute Shiseido spatula that came with the product (very hygienic!) 

Consistency of cream is thick and smooth.

To my Australian girls, you can buy this product at Myer or David Jones for $77. 

For my US girls, unfortunately I think they just discontinued this product at Sephora.

3 'How to' Cards; 

DAY look:

Toned down look which can be used during the day. 

It involves using Heaven on the lid, Velvet revolver into the crease and Sexpresso on the lash line and outer V.

This look will create a soft beige matte finish which can look sexy and subtle for daytime. 

CLASSIC look:

This look to me is quite dramatic. I feel it is more suited for a night time look.

It is described to be recreated with Silk Teddy as a base and Push Up on the whole lid which creates a smokey effect on the eye which is further accentuated with Erotica on the crease and lower lashes.

Personally I wouldn't wear this look as I don't like using Silk Teddy as a base. I would probably substitute that with Nude Beach for a 'Night out in town' look.

 FASHION look:

I feel this look can used during the day as it isn't overly smokey however with the shimmer and golds in this look it can also be suited for a chic glam look. 

Recreated with using Nude Beach as base from crease to brow. Pressing in Honey Pot onto the inner lid and tear duct for that 'pop' to the eyes. Blending Cocoa Puff on the Outer V, crease and lower lashes.

The colours used for this look is similar to what I would normally use when I go out for a lunch date or possibly a small dinner with close friends. Not overly glamorous but still nice enough to go out and feel fab. 

My experience with this palette:

Pros: 

• My favorite colours from this palette are Nude Beach, Honey Pot and Push Up
• Shimmer eye shadows have good color pay off and strong pigmentation.
• Can create a great range of looks from day time to night time make up.
• Good value for money as it offers 9 strong pigmented gorgeous colours that can be used all the time. 

Cons:

•  Heaven and Velvet Revolver (the lighter matte shadows) I feel are lacking in colour pay off. 
• The 'how to' cards are lacking in instruction and colours suggested for the looks I feel don't compliment each other very well.

Overall Rating: 8/10

I really like this palette and can see myself reaching for this one during the Summer holidays to create that natural beachy sun kissed look. What I really love about it is how I can just grab this palette and be confident that I will be well equipped for whatever occasion that pops up.

Two points were taken off due to the ashy and dusty colour payoff from Velvet Revolver and Heaven.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Le Orange #13 Review

Le Orange 13.

My order of Kourtney Kardashian's beloved YSL Rouge Pur Couture Le Orange #13 has arrived from Strawberrynet.com. Such a small item in such a big package... look at all the extra padding!

Gold Mirrored Casing... I feel expensive! 

The colour looks exquisitely bright. However it looks more of a bright red then a orangey/coral colour. 

The mission:

To get that eye catching reddish orangey coral lip colour. 

Pros:

• Packaging is beautiful.
• Smooth application, moisturizes the lips.
• Bright pigmentation (if applied a few times).
• Staying power is amazing! (lasts all day, even after eating).

Cons:

• Not exactly the 'coral' colour I was looking for. Still too reddish for my liking.
• Sheer texture (not suitable if BOLD is what you are looking for).
• Cost $30 (US), $50 (AUS)

Overall: 7/10

The packaging, application and colour of this lipstick is very well designed. However it dropped in rating since I would have liked the colour to be more of a 'coral' colour than red. Still think it's a quality lipstick and will use this colour on other occasions. 

Will still be on the look out for the perfect coral!
